Electrolytic Capacitor
Electrolytic capacitors are polarized capacitors with a basic structure that includes an aluminum foil anode soaked in an electrolyte and a thin layer of graphite or carbon film cathode also soaked in an electrolyte. The two electrodes are separated by a thin paper or film. Due to their large capacitance, ability to withstand higher voltages, and relatively low cost, electrolytic capacitors play a crucial role in electronic circuits.
